MALICE MIZER

This is MALICE MIZER. I shall introduce you to the absolute.Official Malice Mizer Website!

MALICE MIZER (マリスミゼル; Marisu Mizeru) was one of the most influential and popular visual Kei bands. They were active from January 1992 to December 2001. Formed by Mana and Közi, the band's name stands for "malice and misery," extracted from "nothing but a being of malice and misery" — their reply to the question "what is human?". Their earlier music and themes were characterized by their strong French and classical influences, later moving away from deliberate French romanticism and incorporating Gothic-Victorian aspects after several tragedies befell the band. Despite the stated archetypes, Malice Mizer is best recognized as a thoroughly original entity.

MANA - SAMA

Mana (Japanese: 魔名) is a Japanese musician, songwriter, record producer, and fashion designer,[1] best known as guitarist of the visual kei rock band Malice Mizer from their formation in 1992 until their indefinite hiatus in 2001. A year later, Mana formed the gothic metal band Moi dix Mois as his solo project.

Mana founded the independent record label Midi:Nette in 1994. In addition to signing electronic music duo Schwarz Stein, it has released the majority of Malice Mizer's musical output and all of Moi dix Mois' material. His clothing label, Moi-même-Moitié, was established in 1999 and is credited with helping popularize the Gothic Lolita fashion movement.

KöZI

Közi is a Japanese musician, known for being the guitarist and co-founder of the Visual Kei band MALICE MIZER. After MALICE MIZER hiatus in late December 2001, he began a solo career and he is currently active in multiple bands such as ZIZ, XA-VAT, DALLE and VAMQUET.

During his time in Malice Mizer, Közi often assumed the role of a pierrot doll, dressing in clown-like costumes with large ruffs, always in shades of red, his favorite color. In music videos and on-stage he would often make movements reminiscent of a marionette. Közi has continued this visual style to some extent, but his contemporary stage costumes are more gothic. His work on the Izayoi no Tsuki project was reminiscent of carnival music, and artwork for his projects usually follow a dramatic, theatrical theme. Very few details about his private life are known.

He was born on May 29 in Niigata, during his teenage years he dropped out of school and decided to move to Tokyo to pursue his goal of becoming a musician.

At the beginning of the 90s While working in a bar in Tokyo, he met one of his great friends and future MALICE MIZER partner, Mana, who he described at the time as someone interesting and would form a close friendship that still remains to this day.
